Welcome to the Department of French and Italian.Our department offers a wide range of language, literature, and culture courses at the undergraduate level. Our graduate program includes studies in French literature and thought from the medieval period to the present day, in Francophone literature, and in applied linguistics. We also offer study abroad programs in France and Italy and other stimulating activities (film festivals, class excursions, etc.). Candace Lang is Chair of the Department. Valerie Loichot is Director of Graduate Studies. Dalia Judovitz is Director of Undergraduate Studies.
