In Memoriam
We announce with sadness the passing of two members of the Department:

Philippe Bonnefis, Asa G. Candler Professor of French died on Sunday, May 5th, 2013, in Lillle, France. A beloved and gifted teacher, he trained over thirty graduate students in French, many of whom have gone on to have illustrious academic careers.  Author of more than fifteen books on modern French writers and artists, Philippe was known for his vast erudition and his incomparable intellectual elegance. A memorial celebration will be held in Fall 2013; details will be posted on our home page when they become available. 

Candace Lang died on October 31, 2011, at her home in Atlanta.
