Biography
Yazan Kamalulddin is a fifth year Ph.D. student in the French & Italian Department at Emory University. Yazan is interested in Orientalism and French Postcolonial literature and is currently working on his dissertation titled Auto-Exoticization and Ambivalence: Recontextualizing French Novels by Arab Authors. Before joining Emory, Yazan obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Political and Human Science and a Master’s degree in International Affairs from Sciences Po Paris and worked at the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) on the management of a number of portfolios including human rights and women empowerment.
