Abigail Ximena Young is a third-year PhD student in the Department of French and Italian. She received her BA in French & Francophone Literature and English Literature at Swarthmore College. Currently, her primary research interests are Caribbean Studies and Francophone African Literature. Additionally, she is interested in representations of empire, race, and gender in 18^th and 19^th century French novels and intertextuality in anti-colonial literature across the Francophone Global South.
