Sandra Descourtis, Assistant Teaching Professor, is an interdisciplinary scholar-practitioner. She received her M.A. from the University of Arizona and her Ph.D. in Second Language Acquisition from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She teaches all levels of French language as well as a pedagogy seminar for graduate teaching assistants (LING 505).

Her research focuses on French language variations (especially argot and verlan), language ideologies and teaching practices. Her recent projects explore the use of innovative technologies in the classroom. 

Professor Descourtis has presented at national and international academic conferences and has published in a range of scholarly journals.
