Thao LamFrench Major

Thao is 4th-year double majoring in Environmental Sciences and French. At Emory, she has been involved in promoting cultural awareness and providing support for disadvantaged voices in academia and healthcare as Co-President of the Vietnamese Student Association; STEM Pathways mentor; and volunteer at Winship, Emory Clinic, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, and Atlanta Hospital Hospitality House. Next year after graduation, Thao plans to finish her MPH at the Rollins School of Public Health as a BS/MPH dual degree student and merit Scholar in Action, and hopes to gain more public health experience in combatting environmental (in)justices in marginalized communities before continuing to graduate or medical school. She is forever grateful to the French department and especially to Dr. Marion Tricoire for encouraging her passion for French and Francophone cultures (especially the unforgettable meetings with Kim Thúy!), and for allowing her the opportunity to learn and live the beautiful dream that was the 2019 Summer in Paris study abroad.
